i think he might be trying to say he is 1 better than jordan. which he will never even be close to.

kobe used to be number 8 but this year he changed to 24... he wanted to change to 33 to match his high school # but then Kareem Abdul Jabar had retired in 33 so he took he second # which is 24

Kobe Bryant changes his number to 24 at the begging of this season, but was number 8 ever since he entered the NBA.

Well I'm glad you noticed with half of the season gone by. Yes Kobe was number 8 last year and his previous seasons in the NBA. He began wearing 24 this year. I believe he said he wanted to start a new chapter in his career, in addition I want to say it was also his high school number.

yes, kobe wore #8 since his rookie year. he switched to 24 in the start of this season. kobe also wore #24 in high school. # 8 or #24, he's still awesome!
