I'm totally not bothered by my period because I don't really think of it as the 'same' blood (even though it is). The thing that bothers me is cut or torn flesh that is bleeding or the thought of veins being sliced open. That is gross to me. I don't think of my period as an injury so I'm not freaked out. I definitely don't get sick or faint if I see a bleeding injury but I will cringe a bit. I don't know if women fake being sick at the sight of blood but I'm assuming they may have a problem looking at or thinking about injuries rather than the blood itself.

I watch operations on T.V (like on Dr. 90210 and other Discovery Health shows) but I almost fainted when I saw my friend giving birth. There was so much blood there was a bucket under her! The nurse said that my body reacted to the sight of blood and I got lightheaded and had to sit down.

I think that because you know it's happening and it's your own body that women who can't stand the sight of blood aren't as freaked when it's their time of the month. I get a spine tingly feeling when I see other people bleed from a cut but nothing when I do.

I've exposed hundreds of women to the sight of blood, and never saw one get sick over it. On the other hand, I've also exposed hundreds of men to the sight of blood, and seen five of them pass out cold! Two of the guys passed out before they even saw blood, in fact -the sight of the needle I was about to stick in them was enough to do it. And no, they were not faking it, lol...

my best guess would be it is part of an adrenalin reaction that goes with the situation that causes the bleeding, where menstrual blood is obviously not very heart pounding with excitement and it really isn't even very fresh or much blood, but bloody clotted mucus. I don't know. I've done my share of pushing the limp bodies of the students out of my way and against the wall. I am not sure what drops them.

I HATE blood. I feel nausea whenever I see a huge amount of blood, but I have no problem dealing with my period. I don't know why this is, it is weird, but I don't know what causes it. My sister is the same way. So no, we're not faking it, but for some reason, my period is different from any other blood that I see. :)

I am one of them. Period blood is one thing. It is the accidental blood, or the blood drawn for blood work that completely freaks me out. I have passed out having a blood test done.

That is a really good question, and I know exactly what you mean, that would be wierd since all women get periods....maybe they just freak out when they see other people bleed.

that's a good question. I'm not afraid of blood, so it's not a problem for me. I think that they are just pansies and need to get over that sight bc they will be seeing it until they get old enough to get a historectomy.
