In their homes ,whenver they are free . Do they always listen to hip hop or rap just because they feel the pressure to keep the thug image at all times?

OF COURSE THEY DO!
rappers are just people. they not like these supernatural beings or nothin. rap and r&b might be they favorite music but they listen to otha stuff too. Camron from Dipset (a hardcore rapper) has samples of old school tunes in almost every song. He wouldnt put these samples in if he didnt like them.
Also, not every rapper is a gangsta for all those type of answers. You got Kanye, Common, talib kweli, lupe fiasco among the mainstream names. they prolly listen to rock and sh!t all the time! and i dont think dats really a problem.

Once in a while, I am sure they will enjoy other types of music. For example, almost anyone will enjoy sports-arena music (the non-rap kind) and alot of movie-theme-music, or just classic songs that don't fall into any current genre but just seem to sound good to most ears.

And I don't think they do it to maintain a thug image. Music is a personal thing and mostly a private thing. They may CREATE it to maintain (or to fictionalize) a gangsta image, but they listen to it because that is the music that was popular in their environment or is the music that they first encountered on a regular basis.

I used to work with this black guy and we went to lunch everyday and smoked out. He used bring gangsta rap in my truck everyday. Then somedays I would play some Neil Young or some Led Zeppelin. We would go back to work and he would start singing Old Man by Niel Young. But in turn, I now listen to some gangsta rap. Music can be enjoyed by all people regardless of your image. I still consider him a good friend and I know he feels the same. He probably still listens to the CD's I gave him.

Rappers are just like actors, they're pushing a product and part of the job is to portray the image of a tough guy. There may be some rappers that listen to the Backstreet Boys while at home.

Tupac used to listen to all types of music. As a matter of fact , one of his favorite singers was Kate Bush. She's waaaay far from gangsta than any artist I can think of.

ya i think they do, gotta look at itthis way too, if we are going to look at itfrom an actor point of view actor see movies wre they dnt star in it. actors find ways o not alerting the press to them watching other movies why? beause the pulic is only interested in humiliation, even if 50 cent were to openly admt tht he listens to tim magraw doesn't mean tat the press will publish it. press understands wut thy are trying to portray thus wut the media is trying to humiliate. the only way to find ou if someone listens to a sertai type of music is to ask them, if they admit it, othing there. think if OJ pleaded guility, never woulda made news not tothe extent it dd anyways. so all in all ya im sure they do,think every music industry barrows from the other in some way.
