Our drug addiction certainly was a disrupting influence on Columbia. The demand for slavery and diamonds certainly has been a disrupting influence on Africa. Would we even know where
Iraq is, if not for oil?

yes, if it was not for our thirst for oil, they 'd still be herding goats in the dessert.

We get most of oil from Saudi Arabia, don't we? The main political reason we're over there is for oil, and Bush was originally trying to prevent from US-hater from coming in power and cutting off/over-pricing our oil supply.

I would hardly call us a disturbance. They've been in constant turmoil since the Crusades. If not for oil, I think we should've just left the Middle East sitting in their own sh!t. And dealing with it too.

The rest of the world generally views the USA in the same way the USA viewed Great Britain prior to the American Revolutionary War.

It's basically a beast that tells countries what to do with their own resources.

Foreign policy is "make America money or f*ck off".

Their role as world leader is hardly "awe inspiring"
