my 92 chevy v-6 got hot on me...started missing and smoking white smoke.Engine oil is normal color...head gask

Not good... could be warped head, depending on how hot you got it it might have damaged the rings, even the valves. Compression test all cylinders to determine what your compression is like- this will help you deterimine the damage.

If the oil is normal color, then I would tend to rule out a head gasket, or a block crack. I would have these checked though, to be sure. The white smoke tends to be from transmission fluid getting into the engine. If this is an automatic, then this is possible, and the cause is a bad modulator valve between the transmission and the engine. If the car is getting coolant into the engine, it will tend to be a gray color in the exhaust, and the exhaust will smell like steam. Oil provides a black or blue smoke. The missing would be a bad plug, that may have gone out during this event, a spark plug wire, or the distributor cap. Check them as well.

No one can tell you the answer for sure, the least it would be is a blown gasket, the worst a cracked block, and the middle of the road cracked or warped head.
Hopefully just a gasket, but removable of the suspected head will tell you really quick.
Even a mechanic will have to diagnose the problem, and if you get a not very trustworthy one you will be at the least replacing the engine.
One way or another the head would have to be removed.

By the way, I don't have a fancy title for engine repair, I have just repaired and rebuilt a lot of gasoline and diesel engines. Some say I am a mechanic, but I don't have my name on a fancy piece of paper, nor do I want to, I just do what needs to be done.

Oil doesn't burn white. Probably steam from a blown head gasket or warped/cracked head.

you have a blown headgasket. The white smoke is your antifreeze getting into the combustom chamber. This is why it is getting hot.
If you keep driving it , the head will worp and no longer be able to reuse it.
