I think you should try to follow your dreams BUT be realistic, the chance of you making it are slim BUT GO FOR IT just set a goal. If you don't make it in 7 yrs then do something else, and also try to work while pursuing your dream , a little money is a good thing.
good luck!

My first priority would be to finish school. You will later learn to regret that decision of you don't do it. My second would be getting an agent and then going for my dream as fast and hard as I could. I know it takes a lot of work to really make it but it sounds like you have the determination to make it. Before you get too famous though will you send me an 8 x 10 autographed poto of you? My teenage boys and I have a collection of autographed pictures of famous people. Most of them professional athletes.

You are not EXPERIENCED are you?The first thing you will learn about any art job is that you need money.tHAT MEANS THAT JUST LIKE GOING FISHING , THE FIRST THING YOU WILL LEARN IS THAT YOU NEED A JOB.Then as a musition you will find that if you are really good',you will need to be straight in order to talk to the cops. Most of your pals will be doing 25 to life or just dead by the time you are 35.And you will still need a JOB.

that is so weird My teacher just told me he has a son who is a musician and he promotes it but his wife does not and thinks he should go back to school.. how weird is that..lol..
so there are others in your shoes.. you must do what you love.. if its your passion then you must play.. imean passion like you can't go one day with out touching the instrument.. you dream about it.. if your that passionate about it don't give up as it will result in nothing but regret.. but remember this dreams don't come free they come true..
so you might have to get a second job or something till you make it, if your not making mends.. good luck.

Don't be silly, if you believe in yourself and you all work hard then you'll make it through. Don't go for a 'real job' that you won't enjoy. Get with a group of people you work great with and work your wonders. That's how the peppers did it :) and look at them now!

The music buisness is ruthless. But if you got what it takes, it sure beats working. I'd say go to school, college or junior college. But keep playin and improving yourself as an artist. Talent and virtuosity will do the rest.

Can't you go to school & make music at the same time. Then you could have the best of both worlds & benefit from both. Like have your cake and eat it to.

Pretend you are 70 years old. What story do you want to tell about your youth? What memories do you want to have? What do you want it to say about the kind of person you are and the life you led? Think that out and you'll have your answer.
