Neither. America has a long stanting tradition of electing white men to the oval office. It will never happen. USA could never trust a black man or a woman as our leader.

Id say a woman. History says that White people still have an invested interest to make sure a black person doesnt win. If that person is relying only on the black vote, history also says hes screwed there bc the black population has very low turnout in proportion to the rest of the population. That white woman (assuming Hillary) would be backed up by a white man. Especially in the current case - hes a former president. And one that was generally liked. In the current Hil vs Obama, Id say Hillary all the way - just because you can use lack of real experience and (sadly and more discreetly) race against Obama. Hil had been there before - hell she practically ran the place before...

Neither. This is the US of A and they only elect god fearing (or posturing) white men, the stupider and more inside the better.

Of course, countries run by women (such as Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK ) have much better economies and they also have universal health care, but well, I guess we don't deserve that.

Blacks/African Americans are too much of a minority and there is still a racist tinge to the Midwest and southern voter pools.

We should be so lucky to get either H. Clinton or Obama in office.

My personal view as to who I would vote for would have nothing to do with gender or race.

That being said I know you are asking about the USA as a whole.
I would say a woman.
And my logic is this. Half the USA is women. Less than 15% is black.
I know that might seem like an oversimplification of it but. Its more likely a woman gets in there first.

I think we are pretty close to being able to accept either one.

I need to throw a caveat in there though. I think if Colin Powel ran he would have a very good chance at getting elected.

How does one back up a question like that? Well, there are more women in the U.S., than there are black men. So I guess a woman would be a more viable choice to be the first U.S. President. As for a black man in '08, forget Obama. Dennis Haysbert for President!

I am ready for either one, History has proven that white men have screwed this country up so bad that a change is needed.
I am white male and am embarassed by what many of them have done. Not all, but many.
For the most part, I don't think women want to create a war. With regard to a black president, I think he or she might work toward fixing our country first.

A black man, I know that's sexist to think that a woman couldn't be a president...but I just think the majority of the American people would vote for an African American male over a woman.

A black man, since it is a fact that most women would not vote for a women, regardless of her color. They exhibit to much emotion, while a man, regardless of his color, thinks analytical. This way of thinking is required for a position such as president, and therefore the people vote as such...Tom Science 4

Both women and black people are still oppressed(and nobody wants to see either of them in office). Sad but true :-(

It is really hard to decide which would get voted for first. I am going to say NEITHER! It will be another white man. :-(

Take Care and *hugs*
