It really depends on whether or not you want to see shows. If anything, you can go see every hotel and even watch the fountains of Belagio from the eiffel tower in the course of one day. However, if you're planning on going to clubs and seeing show, you'll need several nights. Six is plenty of time to gamble at every hotel on the strip, ride all the rides on the Stratosphere, and watch plenty of shows.

Ways to Save Money:
-You can get free drinks from the waitresses (You can maximize this by putting done a 10 dollar tip beforehand)
-You can often get free shows and dinners from around the reception desk (There are people who lurk around there giving out offers to see shows and get dinners)
-You don't need a rental car unless you're gonna go outside city limits
-If you can, get a VIP card (It gives you some special priviledges and gives you some money to start gambling
-Play table games instead of slots (It helps to learn how to play beforehand)

Gmabling Tips:
-At many hotels, they offer a tv channel dedicated to showing you gambling tips (As dull as it is, i suggest you watch it for an hour or two)
-Try to play card games instead of slots and table poker instead of video poker
-As a beginner, find the tables with the lowest limits (you can find lower limits at older hotels)
-Before taking a seat or making a bet, watch how other people play for awhile, sometimes watching people play for 15 minutes is as effective as learning from a friend
-Set limits for yourself, try to even out your money and assign certain amounts of cash for each table
-Try playing your first few games at tables with less people, this'll hone your skills and patience with-out people constantly raising you money
-Have fun and don't expect to make money

Things to See:
-Luxor hotel is expensive and certainly not the cheapest place to stay, however, it's fun to visit even if you don't sleep there
-Mandalay Bay is probrably the nicest hotel and the swimming pool there is the best on the strip (It's shark reef is a nice attraction)
-Be sure to ride the roller coasters on top of the Stratoshpere tower, at the New York, and anywhere else you see one
-The fountains of belagio is a must see because it's free
-Be sure to go to the Circus Circus, you may think it's for kids but it's adventure dome is actually pretty decent

Tips:
-The best place to watch the fountains of Belagio is from the Eiffel tower of the Paris hotel
-If you plan on gambling a lot, try to gamble at the older hotels
-Do not spend too much money, the key is to have self control
-When you go clubbing, don't give too many tips, those girls'll act like they care about you only as long as you keep throwing them money
-Check out all the hotels, on your first night there you could go out and have a nice dinner, then the next day you can go look at every hotel and see if there's anything that interests you (My friend went a little overboard and had a notepad to write down his favorite attractions and take notes about what he wanted to do). You can spend the rest of the stay doing all these things
-Don't go for the hookers, believe it or not, prostitution is illegal in within the city limits
-Don't get too drunk, you might get married
-If you do rent a car or something, always lock your doors and keep your valuables on your body, Las Vegas has the most car thefts in the US
-Play poker with your friends before hand so you know your abilities, I actually found that internet poker can help
-Have fun and enjoy your stay

The beauty of Vegas is that if offers something for everyone. I'd say 6 nights is good, depending on what you are looking for. You should spend the daytime sightseeing at all the major hotels on the strip, try various buffets and restaurants during the day and evening, and then vary the nights with either a show or a club. Of course, gambling will be inserted during all other times.

Depends on what you like and how much money you have to spend! Besides all the casinos, there are a lot of shows to watch. Also, each hotel is worth walking through, since they all have a different theme and often little sideshows going on.
Then there is also the Hoover Dam outside of Vegas. I am sure that alone could be 2 days worth. So, I believe 6 nights is fine...maybe save the gambling towards the end, in case you lose?

Five or six is perfect. I've stayed there for two nights twice when I was passing through and it just wasn't even close to enough. I don't go anymore unless I can stay at least four nights.

I think you're making a good decision with six but remember to pace yourself. Otherwise you'll be worn out by day three.

Cheers

I was there for 4 nights and that was not enough...I would say 6-7 would be more than enough...anymore and it will start to get a little old.

6 Nights!!!!!!! You'll go crazy in that amount of time, unless your got more money than king midus. All the ding ding ding of the slot machines. Once you get past the front of the casino, they all look the same. I go and stay for 2 or 3 days. You see it and don't get tired of all the noise. It makes me want to come back.

i been there for five nights before and i find that to be about the best number by the end of the trip we were pretty fried and ready to get home and sleep, the last couple days there we only ate about one meal each day due to know one being hungry because we did so much drinking, but it was definatly worth, i recommend stopping at the liqour store and getting some boos so you can pregame before you go out each nite that can save you alot of money.

I find 5 nights to be optimal. I've stayed anywhere from 36 hours to 8 nights, and by 8 nights, not only are you broke, you're fried. Five nights is perfect, six is fine, I wouldn't go longer than six nights though.
