This has been asked before do some research.
He was abducted as an impressionable little boy and terrorized into thinking more harm would come of him or his family.
Little boys don't think like adults, esp. if they have been mistreated.
Ever hear of abused women's issues? Rather similar in some ways.
Give that kid a break!
