Major rivers of Jamaica are,and let me tell you in detail.
None of Jamaica's rivers are navigable for long distances only the Black river which is the islands longest and all year round river is navigable for a short distance inland,this river supports the largest swamp land or morass in the island,its located in southwest central section of the island.
The Great river,is also another large river which ends near to Reading, Montego bay,and separates St James from Hanover.
Its a major river as it is the supply source of much the north west drinking water,and it is also used for recreational purposes.Just east in Trelawny is the Martha brae river which always has a constant flow year round and is a source of drinking water for the island.The Rio Minho is the secon longest,dry in the lower reaches of Clarendon in dry season,the Rio Cobre in St Catherine is Another major one both located on the south to southeast, both rivers are used, for irrigation.
Now to the north east," the" Wag water in St Mary,not sure of its purpose,but over in Portland the Rio Grande is islands mightiest due to continuous heavy rainfall at its head waters in the Blue and John Crow Mountains,throughout much of the year,however its used for rafting,were tourist hitch a ride by bamboo raft, down stream from from a comunity up stream for a one an a half or a two hour relaxing ride, with breath taking views of the Rio grande valley and its surrounding mountains. others are the Plantain Garden and Yallas in St thomas,& Caberita in Westmoreland.
NB:
Yallas and Hope river in St Andrew used for suppling water to the nations Capital.

Dunn's River Falls is the best there is any where in the world not just Jamaica.
