Someone keyed a very bad word on the hood of my car. How do I fix this?? And, what's the cheapest way without sacrificing quality??

My cars a silver, fixed up 2001 Pontiac Sunfire.

Well if you're looking for a cheap solution you could try getting one of those cheap buffers at an auto parts store and buffing/waxing it, but I don't know if that will work for a really deep key mark. Perhaps an auto detailing place would have the equipment that could do it.

Also, if you have a fairly common car with a common color, you might be able to find a hood at an auto salvage yard nearby that you could purchase for cheaper than what a auto body shop would charge to repaint/replace.

Get the hood re-painted. The damage is probably too deep and/or too large for touch-up paint or to be buffed out.

You don't say how old your car is, or what shape your paint is in, but I would look for a shop that does colour-melt service. If your hood is suited to that, it is cheaper by far than repainting.

Get the kit to paint over the scracthes. I think you can get it from the dealer ship

repainting or salvage yard is probably the cheapest. check with your insurance though, they could cover the cost.
