What is the title of this book about pirates?

Question

in the story a ship is hijacked and a pirate has a vest made of cork. There is also a book with a list of pirates names that is important in the story.

Is it a new book? Could it be Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson? I haven't read it yet, but it sounds Barry-ish.

The Pirates of the Carribean ~ the junior novelization perhaps??


Sorry if I got it wrong... It's the only book about pirates I've ever read in my life ~ other than Louis Stevenson's book that I didn't remember its title... anyway, it's not about pirate at all... the character is not a pirate.
