Please no Stephen King, Clive Barker, Dean Koontz, etc. I have read all the books by these people I am interested in at the moment(I don't really like Koontz at all and King is very hit and miss.) Also I have read everything by Poe and Lovecraft. I am looking for something a little more obscure.

Consumer Reports..LOL Just kidding.

A wonderful writer in the genre of horror is Ann Radcliffe. In 1789 she penned the noval, "The Castles of Athlin and Dunbayne ". As you mention Edgar Allen Poe as someone you have read, I believe that Ann Radcliffe is appropriate as her writ tings inspired Poe's "The Oval Portrait".

You will most certainly enjoy the works of this pioneer of women in literature!

Try some of Ray Bradbury's novels....in particular Something Wicked This Way Comes. He is noted for Sci-Fi but this is more in the horror genre. It is a very memorable piece of literature.

Try Robert Bloch ( "Psycho" is his most known work, although there are others). Or Richard Matheson ("Legend of Hell House", etc). Or Shirley Jackson ( "The Haunting", & "We Have Always Lived in the Castle", which are very beautifully written unusual horror novels)
