I've bought it; it's a very well-produced animated film, with an impressive blend of hand-drawn animation and CGI (generally this looks cheesy, but they did it very well in Iron Man).
As a die-hard Iron Man fan, though, some things concerning the continuity disappointed me. For instance, Tony Stark's heart is damaged, but the suit wasn't made to sustain him. They wounded his heart just because the character from the comics had the ailment; it has no real significance in this movie, though. Since he built the suits prior to becoming Iron Man, as a project for the military, in the film, the original concept of him building the suit to sustain his dying heart was tossed out. This results in a pointless near-death experience in which he suffers no physical malady for the rest of the movie. Other than that, the writing was tight.
The second thing that irked me a little bit is that the armor - although very cool - is much larger than the comic-book Iron Man (in the comics, his suit is form-fitting). The suit in the movie is about 7-9 feet tall, which kind of takes away some of the agility he has in the comics. Even still, the design of the suit is very familiar, and very cool in the context of the movie.
My last gripe is that he gets his butt handed to him in too many fights. Granted, it's his first time as Iron Man, so his lack of skill is excusable.
Overall, this is the best animated Marvel film so far. The voice acting is excellent, and the design is great. It's worth it.

I saw it yesterday. I expected it to be terrible, but it wasn't too bad. It was a fairly creative retelling of the story. The animation was much better than I expected, and the storyline was good although the ending was a little weak. I would rent it or buy it at if I was a major Iron Man fan. Wal-Mart has an exclusive Dr. Strange comic included with the DVD, so I'd buy it there. It's a nice bonus, and has a short story from the guys who did the Oath miniseries.

It is well worth it... The animation is excellent, the story line is top notch, and it is classic Iron Man, none of this 'Civil War' Iron Man crap the comic is producing these days.
Remember that this is NOT the same continuity as the Ultimate Avengers DVDs, this is an entirely new telling.
