I was watching the Vernon Johns story earlier, and not for the first time was I ashamed to be white. Treatment of Blacks has been horrendous and only a few short years ago. So, I have decided to become Black. At least I can be proud to have persevered. I was just curious if anyone else had ever felt this way.

I am mostly German and Irish. So basically, I just look White. Becoming Black will be a big switch for me.

I constantly seeing people of different races being treated badly in public, especially Asians, all the whites and blacks are racist towards Asians for some reason, so I understand theyre proud of their ethnicity, but I think they might think that its better to be white or something, so they wont be treated as badly

All races have something in history to be ashamed of. But aside from shameful histories, I am happy to be what I am. My ancestors may or may not have been bastards, but I am a good person and do not share in the burden of past mistakes that I did not personally make.
I do my best to be a good person. I make my own mistakes but they are my own. My mistakes do not reflect other whites, women, Episcopalians, Americans, or any other group of people I happen to share in.
I do not wish to be another race. I do not condone what past whites have done to hurt other races. I do not look down on other races. I am just happy to be what I am; a person with my own talents and shortcomings.

I think we should contribute in reducing racism than trying to change the race. What are you trying to prove by changing the race? Is it out of pity? Everyone has answered saying they are proud of their race. What is there to be proud of a race? Be proud only if you are a good human, not because you belong to a particular race.

I would have liked to be Hawaiian instead of Australian with Viking heratige. But I like where I come from so I don't think that if I had the opportunity I would change. Hope this helps.

I'm Asian. Sometimes I will think of what you think now.
Then when I realise that the entire human are the same, why should border the colours. It just likes what colour of shirt you wearing now. Why should colour made entire human far away?
When the emotion arise, this the moment where the wisdom come.
Accept it and appreciated who you are now.
I’m happy with who I’m now

I haven't ever wanted to change my race because I'm happy with who I am. The reason I think racism is prevalent as it is is because people classify each other into "blacks" and "whites". You don't see blond haired kids making fun of black haired kids, because no one ever taught them to think of each other differently. We shouldn't always classify each other by our physical features.

I kinda always wanted to be a different race, just to see how different I'd be treated.

Nope. Never.
I wish there was no racism, but I'm fine with my race. I wouldn't have it any other way.
