Seems like the oil is a moot point if we're all dead, huh? The war on terror gets my vote.

For this question to be valid it must first be true that they are two separate conflicts; however, the fact is that they are too intermingled to view separately. Who do you think makes up the Iraqi insurgency? Terrorists are coming in from all over the Middle East to join in the fight. While it isn't always going well, the fact remains that keeping them occupied or killing them in Iraq is indeed still part of the overall war on terror. Furthermore, it has been somewhat effective in keeping a large number of hostile terrorists busy fighting there instead of planning attacks here on the homefront. Something I noticed the other day while monitoring a discussion of 8th grade students (and by the way I'm pretty sure these kids knew more about it than some members of congress...they could at least tell me the difference between Sunni and Shiite), was that some lacked the understanding that the U.S. is not at war with Iraq. We are fighting terrorists (the insurgents) in Iraq alongside our Iraqi allies(and I use the word "we" rather loosely, as most Americans haven't been asked to fight or even sacrifice much of anything...the sacrifice is being made my our military and its families, and even more so by Iraqis). Therefore, I am asserting that this question is invalid.

particular, the yankee people did not go with the conflict in Iraq. It became the leaders who did it without consulting or telling the yankee people the authentic time table of the conflict. Had it no longer no longer befell to you why the dual towers collapsed even as it became hit through the planes? worry-free sense will tell that this isn't attainable. although, if a bomb were planted interior the progression, that is attainable. in case you had the celebration to work out videos or videos of a progression demolition, then you genuinely have an concept that even 10 planes will under no circumstances crumple the towers. only study the footages, and also you'll see an noticeably miraculous similarity. Ergo, that is the more desirable convincing way of creating the yankee people to clamor for the decimation if no longer extinction of terrorism. yet whose terrorism, interior the mild of those events? a lot were reported about this destruction interior the papers and tv. And data are pointing that Bin encumbered or those claiming to be to blame for 9/11 are only props hiding the authentic nature/purpose of the attack. it is why any such number of are at a loss for words. yet then somewhat exercising of the grey cells will expose that the dual towers has been bombed, synchronized with the plane attack. through the way, were there any airline organization who reported/claimed that it became their plane that hit the towers?

Wrong - the US does not need the oil. They import what they need from the Persian Gulf countries, like Saudi Arabia, South America and Canada. 2/3's of what they use comes from Canada. I would say the war in Iraq can be won by the withdrawal of troops. Let Iraq take care of themselves. The Sunnis and the Shiites have been itching to get at each others throats for years. So, let them fight it out. If AL Malki and his group cannot run the country, with the help they have had so far, then they never would. The war on terrorism is far more important. Trouble is, Bush has made it far more desparate than it would have been. So, now it is more difficult, but necessary.

The war for Iraq IS the war on terror. Its just one battle out of many. Once the country is stablized, the terrorists will have one less place to safely set up their training camps & staging areas. I dont understand why so many people (democrats) have a hard time with that concept. If we leave Iraq, and leave the terrorist alone, like they say, the terrorists will surely attack us harder, because they will have more time to train and prepare. Fight them there, or fight them here. That's what it's come to. OH, and its NOT about the goddamn oil. that is propaganda at its best. Oil prices are controlled by the free market; too many people involved to 'control' it. Mass fear & panic & paranoia can INFLUENCE any financial market.

Ah to think how much intelligence work to truely fight the war on terror could have been done if we had not pissed away a trillion dollars invading a soviergn nation. Oh well. The war on terror.
The greatest brainwashing tool invented since the war on drugs.
Yes the government can continue to do whatever it wants and spend whatever it wants because of the war on terror. Propaganda at its finest.

Neither war is "winnable".
And the "war on terrorism" isn't even a real war! It's the official rationalization that keeps the military-industrial machine going. The "war on terrorism" is the Cold War of the 21st century.

Historical that area has always had issues. I believe Iraq needs the US to help defend it. Teach them to defend themselves from neighboring attacks. Setting time table, will only make it easy for a group to plan an attack. The news is good, but they need to understand, like most people, a planned exist isn't the way to go. It's something that needs to happen, yes, but if we let the world know, some group will come in and take over. They need to stand up for themselves. Train them and let them do it.
