I don't think you can ever wear velvet anymore... isn't that something Prince wore in the 80s?
My suggestion is to get out into the shops and splurge on something that makes you look and feel great... questioning if you're "allowed" to wear it can only mean that you will feel uncomfortable in it.

Velvet is a beautiful fabric, if you want to wear it just do it. I suggest you have your dress made from the real thing though, the cheap stuff looks tacky and people will be able to tell the difference.

Velvet yes, cordoroy no! makes the walking down the eisle thing awkward at best.

Technically, that's spring, and you REALLY only wear velvet in fall or winter if you are going to be absolutely correct. I probably wouldn't do it.

what color? whoever said pastels is wrong, this spring is all about bold primary colors. red, navy, green! not all together though of course. march is still winter where im from! if you like the dress and it looks good on you there is no problem wearing it

yes you could as long as your comfotable and its not a goofy out of season color. all that really matters is that you showed up for someones special day
