I wanna say 1st off sorry for another question about rascism. But, I was just glancing at some of the questions on here and was very saddened and hurt. You see, I am a 20year old black woman thats educated, pretty I have been told, and doesnt judge people unless I know them.I just dont understand why black women are so hated.People think that we dont know that in the eyes of the American world, we are not attractive?Of course we do. We are reminded everyday. And then, reading this there is so many generalizations about how we are ugly, loud, ghetto, and unfeminine.I know so many black women that carry themselves with respect and are not like this.Yes,there are exceptions to this rule. But that is with all people, not one people is all the same.Just like no one person is the same.Well,I just wanted to say that when you write these things, think about the people you might be hurting.Because black women will never have what other races of women have in this world. So, I just pray for all sisters.

It just through culturalization and pop culture that most standards of beauty are set. I'm 19 and a bio major in college so I sympathize completely since I too am not bitchy and can speak in complete scentences. Just hold your head up girl there are more of us out there.
(btw, some of us have no problem dating men of any race.)

You can only set the positive example. If someone doesn't care for you because of their classification then they are not worth someone knowing anyway. Personally I love black women. I have meet a few that have problems but like you said there are narrow minded people in every race. You can say we are not all that way and then say things like"people think we don't know that in the eyes of American world..." You get what you give. If you generalize about others you are going to believe that others all think that way. I try to see everyone as an individual and look what I see inside not outside.

I understand where you are coming from, and I can understand you completely. I don't understand where all this racism comes from!!! It got so much better and (lately) it seems it getting so much worse (again)! I pray that these racist people will come to their senses and realize that all races are the same. But maybe, white people are afraid of black people in general, because they are different, and they are afraid of anything different. So they hide behind their fear and out from it comes hatred. I think there are a select few black women (and white too, for sure) that are the same as what you mentioned above. But the majority of them are beautiful and kind and sweet. The nicest people I know are black...and can ANYONE sing as amazing as a black woman? I do NOT think so. Hope this helps and I, too, pray that this racsim thing will come to an end!

Sorry about how you felt. I am sure that there are stereotyping and possibly racism involved. At times, I know you will face even though you have carried and present yourself well. That is a given unfortunately.
I once watched a PBS program about African-American women. In that program, it said that even the African-American men were degrading the women of the same color. Seems like the African-American were mistreated and disrespected even by their own race.
If that is true, I will pray for your sisters also.

People are judged by their Character, one eill always find prejudice people of all races. I am a white man raised in the south mugged 4 times by blacks but I still don't hate anybody. I have to realize what has happened to blacks in the past and I could have very well been black. God made us all and has no respect of persons, so why should we?
You could think you are hated, or you display an attitude which turns people off. Be friendly with people even though it may take turning the other cheek and God will bless you. Try doing good to those who you think hate you. Good Luck & God bless

I am truly sorry that you feel this way.
It is in no way the color of the skin, It's the way a person conducts themselves. If people think african american women are unattractive then that is their opinion. In my opinion some of the most beautiful women in the world are of some sort of color whether it be Native America, Indian, Asian, Latino, or African American. It's a shame that their is such negativity surrounding your culture. There are a lot of shames in this world and a lot of UGLY! Dont worry what others think. You should feel good about who you are. Love yourself for who you are.

Awww.. Sweetie, That's not true!! Don't let a few racist/sexist individual's remarks get you down! The majority of people don't hate black women at all! In fact, it's been proven more than enough that black women are just as beautiful as any other women in the world!! Look at Halle Berry and Beyonce! I think, what you've probably experienced, are the remarks of people who probably dislike black people AND women! They don't even deserve to be taken seriously, They're just ignorant.

The stereotype of a black woman is a bossy, mean, controlling person, that is not seen attractive in some men's eyes. That is the most stupid, ignorant, and immature stereotype I have ever heard. As a black woman, those stereotypes have effected my self esteem and I'm tired of It.People need to realize that black women are not like that and just because a small portion of black women act like that, the rest of us should not suffer because of that.

You have a great point. Society does deem us as the more aggressive and harder of the other genders. We are even stereotyped that way. I find myself educated, attractive, and open minded, but I am not going to take no junk either. Because of this Black men see me as too hard, and White women see me as a *****, and white men as difficult to deal with. It's a wonder we are raising our families alone. I pray for our sisters too, because although we can be a strong, tough individual once you get to know us we are soft and loyal to our man.
