I'm a believer that the people who would smoke if pot were legal are already smokers. Legalizing will not cause rampid pot smoking all over the country. I've been looking around, and found out there were about 35,000 times more deaths related to alcohol as there were related to marijuana in 2000, and that was one of the higher rates.

There's no reason why pot should be illegal... can anyone find one?

Anyway, I was just wondering how many people would actually change their ways and start smoking once it was legalized.

well I would consider taking it back up on rare occasions like I consider drinking on occasion.. but I used to smoke frequently in high school. the problem with your stats is that pot is ILLEGAL, alcohol is not. I think itd be smart to sell it legally- government could be making their buck off the sale instead of low-life dealers and it would be safer because it would have to be regulated.. they could sell it behind the counter like they do decongestants... All you have to do is show ID and sign and you can have a little baggy LOL

I am almost thirty years old and I have never done any legal drugs. I was in the Army for the last ten years and passed monthly urinalysis tests. I have been out for a year, and still haven't felt the need to do any drugs. That being said, I am for the decriminalization of drugs. I believe in limited government and I don't think it's the Federal governments job to tell people what they can do with their bodies. I'm not saying doing drugs is okay, I'm just saying the choice to do them resides with the individual. Not the government.

No, I wouldn't , but that's just not in my lifestyle. Why should i change my ways just because suddenly somthing is "allowed". People who already do it, will continue... I don't think there will be a new following of pot smokers either.

Pot makes me sick to my stomach - literally - so I wouldn't smoke it. But I don't have a problem with people who do.

I wouldn't toke if it was legal. I have nothing against those who do, it just isn't something I want to start again.
