yea they will.i like to think of last year just as a practice year.doesnt really count.but since theyve gotten some pitchers who might actually help out then that will make a huge difference.im like you.im a huge fan and watched them since i was like 5.and im actually goin to two of their spring training games.maybe this year theyll go all the way

It don't look good for the home team - not for a while. The Braves kinda backed themselves into a corner by keeping older (but good) players, with the 9th highest payroll in the league. Andruw Jones ($13.5 mil), Chipper Jones ($12 mil), John Smoltz ($11 mil, that's $8 mil and half his $6 mil signing bonus), Hampton ($9 mil), Tim Hudson ($8.5 mil - remember, he got a $10 mil signing bonus), Bob Wickman ($6.5 mil), Edgar Renteria ($6 mil; BoSox paying part of his $9 mil avg salary). Those seven eat up $66.5 mil of an $80 mil payroll. The bad part about this is that if you look at the above list - they almost all had injuries last year and the roster did not stay intact. The loss of Leo Mazzone, and the fact they basically sold the farm to keep the above players does not bode well for the near future of the Braves. I think it will be a few years before they can contend again, they will have to rebuild the farm system, and try to make some good deals for up and coming talent with low price tags. But, I hope I'm wrong.

The Braves are well on their way to becoming once again, the dominant team in the National League. They fixed their glaring weakness in the bullpen and have an all around solid team. Even though they lost some power in LaRoche and Giles, they have the talent within to make up for it. l think you'll see them at the top of the league this year, if not, then they certainly will be the wild card!

What the "used" to be?
LOL.. they had one bad year in the last 15. Don't write them off so quick. Stick by their side.
I'm an Astros fan, so personally I hope they have many bad years in the future.
The Braves may indeed bounce back to how they've been the previous 14 years, but now they have to be better to take on the Mets, so what they "used to be" may not be good enough anymore.

Ummmm...they win 14 division titles in a row then lose one year and now we're wondering if they will ever have a chance of becoming what they used to be?? It's a little too soon for such dire worries. Now if you were a Cubs fan....

First of all,its good to see i'm not the only Braves fan around here. =)
To answer your question, yes I do think they have a chance. All they need is a good leadoff hitter
and maybe a solid good firstbase-man and secondbase-man. And fix up their bullpen/starting pitching and they will be just as good as everyone else.

Yes they will because they are trying to get younger and have more money to spend on free agents.
