You can think of some possibilities like: another Rwanda , or a good terrorist's training ground. For this generation, trustworthy, bravery and charity all bow to Individualism. If it do you good, do it; otherwise forget it!

The precedent has already been set. Beirut (Reagan) S. Iraq (Bush the Elder) Mogadishu (Clinton). 911 resulted. It is worse than no longer being trusted to keep our word. It is being trusted NOT to keep our word. I believe 911 will be repeated over and over. Woe be unto us if we do not see this through, whether it be because we hate Bush for the hanging chad, or the lack of WMDs, or whatever reason we feel the desire to back out. I wish for once the people of the US would not be so stupid & short-sighted. If we could only see through middle eastern eyes, and not through western eyes, and understand the way that the extremists like Bin Laden see those who cut and run.

if we cut and run now... trust will hardly be our main problem...

it will set a precedent... or re-itirate something most of us know.

When your occupying a nation full of terrorists.. and the country as a whole has a young amateur police force... and you try to cut and run by lowering the number of soldiers down each month by so many per month... then you can pretty much count the last 100,000 dead because by the time you try to get them out, the terrorists will have already gobbled them up. So unless you can deal with 100,000 soldiers murdered... do not do it. The Dem's seem to think we can i guess?

I think you are right in one respect and that we will and have already set a precedent for future conflicts. I think the world doesn't trust us already because of this disgusting display of hubris by this president and government. I also think there is going to be hell to pay for getting into Iraq as well. And no matter when we pull out of Iraq, either tomorrow or 10 years from now, the fury that it will unleash from the extremists in the middle east is going to be hell for us. It is better to leave now than later.

What might I ask is "our word"? I mean if "our word" is based on a lie, a miscalculation, and a complete lackof understanding of what we were getting our troops into ....as being the reason to keep our youngsters at risk of more death? Is that the "word" you want to keep? You want more parents waking up to dead sons and daughters. Give me a break!! Word schmord.

That is like pulling the trigger and killing someone and then being too stubborn to admit your wrongdoing so instead you just go ahead and shoot out your whole neighborhood. We need to stop the killing and get out of there now.

Maybe we'll think twice about the reasons for making serious moves such as invading another country.
