Tax the fast food industry, just like they tax the tobacco industry

The past & present Presidents have already set up recommended physical education in schools, classes on nutrition, & withholding funds to schools who do not serve
healthy lunches.
Insurance companies must treat obesity when requested.
By in large it is a personal choice but the hope is that if we
educate the children, they will eat better. Lower income tend to have more weight problems due to the money to buy fresh & less fatting foods. Unfortunately, fresh fruit cost more than Twinkies.

Put a treadmill in every towncenter and pay a man to use a caddle prod on the fattest person in town as they ran the pounds off. Seriously, its about nutrition, education etc. Many obese children have obese parents, which means if you can develop healthy eating habits for the older generations, it makes it easier for the younger. Myself, I am thin and I do not like anti-obese practices that affect me such as changing the cooking oils or removing soda's from public places etc. I guess to say it is up to those fat people to thin themselves down and quit eating like a porker. When raising your kid don't let them eat pure sugar throughout the day and giving them all that junk food.

About the only Constitutional thing you could do is try and educate the people. Passing any laws on how people eat would be a gross violation of the Constitution. Your best bet would be to fund a wide array of ads through all kinds of media; print, TV, Internet, billboards, the sides of buses, etc. Also, you could have pamphlets made up and placed in every school nurse's office. Other than that, I don't know.

Obesity is not the concern of the President. It is a personal health issue and not one that needs to be tackled by the government. Poverty, health care, education, and urban development are appropriate domestic issues for a President to offer initiatives for. I hope that helps, but many folks are likely to be offended if you keep repeating these postings.

Before the President of the US should worry about obesity he/she should have already address the more important issues of the country, Unemployment, the war in Iraq, Health care, Education, Social Security, the problems in the Military...the list goes on and on.

Frankly if Health care issues are taken care of then I think obesity would be addressed at that point in ensuring that everyone has access to proper health care in all areas of their life. It still amazes me that if you are obese your insurance will not cover anything to help you change...medication, surgery, nutrition counseling or exercise programs. But they will pay for high-blood pressure meds, diabetic supplies and meds, and everything else that could be prevented by being pro-active and helping folks with the desire to change and not the knowledge or ability to do it alone.

I would first change my name from coca cola to something else like Kelly McLaren and then go from there with an unbeatable team of political players that would literally tour the nation, school by school making sure that all kids of all ages are eating healthy and well with a daily regiment of incredibly diverse and up to date physical activities to keep the blood moving and the mind awake, ready for the next class...Tom Science 4

Eat less and excercise.

More seriously- some speeches to put some more attention on the problem and draw attention to groups and businesses that are working on it. Government interference in the marketplace (like banning certain foods or taxing them, etc, is not a good idea)

Are you the same person who asked that question once already? I told you that you need to do this yourself. Your teacher wants your opinion, not some one Else's opinion. If you would start doing your own homework instead of expecting others to do it for you , you will learn a lot more. It would be cheating on homework if you wrote down what some one else said, instead of doing the answering of this question yourself. Do your own homework, be honest, not a cheater.
