Place a cup of water 3/4th full with maybe 2 drops of dish soap in it, and place it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, allowing it to boil and steam in the microwave. Then all you have to do is wipe the microwave out. Careful moving that cup, though - use an oven mitt, it's really hot!
If you use a sponge on your dishes, get it wet and place it in the microwave to 1) Steam and clean the microwave 2) Kill all the nasty germs and sterilize the sponge.

You do not need soap, put a cup of water in your microwave and heat on high about a minute and then wipe out the inside.

In a spray bottle I have wht. vinegar I spray the inside of the microwave and then I place a cup of H2O in the microwave, bring to a boil let set for a few min. then wipe clean.

I use 409 with grease remover to clean mine. It works great. If you have a lot of spills in there, you may need one of those green sheets non abrasive thingy to help you.
