ok..i rele like acting, possiblt more just the idea of it because i have never rele acted in front of ppl. I joined the drama club(freshmen in hs) but it was not wat i was expecting. I mean they had a play right away and i was not chosen to be in it because of the competition(monologues). Do u know how i can learn more about acting or actually start pursuing it? my parents think its stupid trying to get a career in acting and they dont take it seriously. helpp! if u can..

Well...Take some classes. Usually different dance places that teach dance classes..also have acting classes. Its like 52 bucks a month which isnt bad. Usually at first they always try and make u do improv..if u suck at it dont worry..it doesnt mean ur a bad actor. Sometimes people r way better with scripts than with improv.
Also, when im doing lines..At first usually it helps to think " How would i say this"..so that way u sound more natural..then when ur just reciting the lines.

1. Believe in yourself. Your parents won't take you seriously unless you put yourself wholeheartedly into your new choice of career.

2. Make sure you really get into the script. You have to BE the character you're trying to play. Don't just 'play' the character, really become the character. Put yourself in the mindset of the character.

3. Really learn your words as well when you go to go put your mind into a script or part of a scene. You don't want to forget some of your lines.

most freshmen don't get parts in their first play because of their lack of experience. ask your drama teacher for help and practice a lot. try really hard next time you have an audition and if u get a major role, then maybe your parents will see how serious you are about acting and get you more help to pursue it.
