I find that an email is faster and easier, but for the personal touch, NOTHING beats getting something in the postal mail. If you are sending a Thank You, an email is NEVER the better choice. It is considered good manners to send a handwritten Thank You within a couple of days after receiving a gift or favor from someone, and especially after an interview of a job you REALLY want...it shows professionalism, poise and real thoughtfulness. Letter writing is much more fun, and I have tons of special notecards, stationary and stickers I send to friends and family. I still have a pen pal i have had for 25 years!!!

I never did like writing letters they just take to long to be recieved. Emails are great, they can be sent and read instantly. Is that not just the best! I also believe they are just as personal as letters. Either way, I think they are both just as good except for the speed, so i guess the question is, How fast do you need or want delivery? There u go! Good luck and goodbye.

Me too, I send them as often as I can, although with a hectic schedule it is not as often as I would like. Lots of my friends must feel the same way as you because I get cards and letters in the mail all the time (even though we all still use email too). It's such a kind, thoughtful way to tell someone you are thinking of them or miss them ----

I write letters to my sweet little Aunt Jess every month. She loves it. And I love making her day. There is a real art to writing a letter, and I'm afraid that e-mail and laziness is killing it. What a shame. Write a letter, write several letters... who knows, you may even get one back!

I think letters are a thing of the past. Postcards may still be used for people on trips but I think the letters of the past are dead.

I have older relatives without computers. I write them letters. I e-mail my sister everyday. It's cheaper than calling Texas.
