Certain bed sheets end up smelling 'waxy' or have a funny odor -- even when they are freshly washed -- even when using liquid fabric softener. Is there a way to remove the odor? I typically wash my light colored sheets in hot water and the darks in cold or warm using liquid All free and clear and then use Snuggle in the rinse cycle. Not all bed sheets end up with the odor -- just certain sets.

it must be the fabric they are made of, use dryer sheets too and febreeze in the linen closet , you can also put dryer sheets in between sheets in the stack in the linen closet. check the contents and company and dont buy that brand again if you can avoid it.

I've never heard anything like that before. I like to use both liquid softener and sheets. That always makes my sheets smell good. If they still smell funny just get some fabric spray. I like the ones they have at Bath and Body Works, they have lots to choose from and they last for ever too. Hope this helps you out.

I've never heard of sheets smelling waxy or a funny odor. If they are white sheets, try putting a little bleach in the wash. Don't put too much. Read the bottle for amount if you don't know. I love the smell of bleach in the wash. Smell so clean. Good luck.

This waxy smell is in my opinoin cheap linens. Buy linens with a high thread count. A good place to go is bed bath and beyond or JC Penney. Use a linen spray from bath and body works if smell is a pathological problem after making the change.
