Factors of 25 are 5 and 5.
Factors of 35 are 5 and 7.
Thus the least common multiple will be composed of the combination of factors from which you can make each number. so 5 x 5 x 7 (175) allows you to make each of the larger numbers.

factors of 12de are 2 x2 x 3 x d x e
factors of 8e are 2 x 2 x 2 x e.
Least common multiple must contain factors to include:
2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x d x e, or 24de

Greatest common factor will include the intersection of the two sets of factors, thus 2 x 2 x e, or 4e.

Does that do it?
