Yeah Im not a Reggie Bush fan at all and even I think that is a silly fine. Hey its all part of the game. Football is also a mind game. And did that taunt work for the Saints........no it totally backfired. That defense did not allow another point scored on them that game. They shut the whole offense down and really shut down Reggie after that. I understand the fines but, I think this is going to far. People are paying to see entertainment. And seeing that is entertainment. I was dying when he did that. I couldnt stop laughing. Yeah would be good for the NFL to losen up those ties and let the players express there joy. Peace out and enjoy the Colts Super Bowl victory Sunday.

The NFL is an Ultra Competitive Sport.
The players invest a tremendous amount of thier time preparing for the games.
Unlike Hockey Football Malees are not celebrated. The actual NFL action is better (Otherwise hockey ratings wouldn't suck)
If Taunting wasn't controlled there would be too many injuries resulting from all the fights and brawls that would occur. These men take pride in thier performance and don't like getting shown up. (See LaDainian Tomlinson's Reaction to Patriots Dancing on the Charger Logo)
The sommersault into the endzone did not get Bush a Fine. It was the Taugnt at Urlacker. Hey Bush actually benefited from the rule. Otherwise Urlacker & all the other Bears about 4 of them would have be whoopin Bush's azz in the endzone.
The NFL has enough entertainment value without all those antics. You are Incorrect! The NFL does allow endzone celebrations. They have to be spontaneous acts of joy not pre-meditated affairs. Blame Chad Johnson & Steve Smith for the crackdown. BTW The NFL Players themselves actually are the ones who requested the crackdown.
How many sack dances do you see??
How about dancing after a big hit??
Maybe you guys are too young to remember the tormoil that was created with the Redskins "Fun Bunch" and other Teams during the 80s.
The Defense would linger in the endzone and blast any attempt for a celebration. This actually was a distraction from the game. T.O., Chad,Smith whoever. They would not get those TDs without the QB, Line, The Coach calling the play ETC. So why do they deserve to take all the credit.
If the game got delayed by a celebration dance after every play the games would take 6 hours to complete. Yeah give the guy in the wheelchair the ball, spike it, do a quick leap for the fans these act do not get fines. Fines are for the "Look at Me" antics.
I tune in to watch FOOTBALL! There is plenty of entertainment value in that alone. Remember...These guys are Professionals. They should act like it.

He wasn't pointing at Urlacher to taunt him, he was.... telling his blockers to pick him up.
He wasn't flipping into the end-zone, he... tripped. Yeah. And then he just had to twist around a bit to land comfortably.
Okay, maybe that's a little unrealistic. But still, I would like to see an NFL ref prove me wrong. Without a shadow of a doubt. They couldn't. What if by some twist of fate, something similar to my scenario happens one day? Would they fine that person, too?
I agree with you completely, too. I'm not just being an argumentative snot. As long as it's not obscene, the players should be allowed to do just about anything they want. After all, I would love nothing more than to see Reggie Bush flipping into the endzone and fumbling before he got the TD. And if they ban taunting and celebrations, that will never happen.

What a stupid fine, the NFL really needs to lighten up. Plus, they give it to him a week later while their was no penalty on the field.
They need to remember that sports is entertainment and fun, let the players show off, I've always liked that part of the game.
You can't tell me that everytime T.O. scores a touchdown, everybody is waiting to see what he's gonna do next.

I strongly disagree. The showboating has gone way too far. Especially when you do it at the expense of a fellow NFL player. Taunting in any sport really damages the integrity and gamesmanship. Reggie was "bush" league and I think he should have been fined 10k! Why can't he just act like he has scored before?

Yes the NFL is way too strict. This is clearly because if Bush's recent troubles. Not to mention they don't want to give him the rookie of the year trophy either...

A) The money means nothing to Bush. He's loaded.
B) Another rich punk showing no class. I am sick of this in-your-face-motha attitude. That's why the NBA is getting so putrid.
C) Thank God for baseball.

That's not celebrating a TD, that's having a "look at me" moment. It has nothing to do with emotion, it's about being able to see themselves acting like fools on Sportscenter when they get home.

To strict? He should have gotten fined $50,000. $5,000 is pocket change to those guys. means nothing. I like the rules against taunting and excessive celebration. These guys are suppose to be professionals and they should act like it.
