or is society attacking skinny people now. I'm getting sick and tired of my people telling me i need to eat more. For instance my friends and I went to an all you can eat buffet, and one of them told me, "I wasn't getting my moneys worth, but only eating two plate." I have a very high metabolism and that's not my fault. I'm 5 ft. 106 lbs. I won't eat everything under the sun, just because it's available to me. Any advice for making my friend stop before i say something very ignorant about her being overweight? I really don't want to go there. Thanks

There, there. Did you know that skinny people tend to get angry more often than heavier people? : )

Maybe you should, (be ignorant that is). I'm overweight. By 20 pounds. And I'm tired of people looking at me funny cuz I'm eating. It's all about being healthy anyway. I've lost a lot working at my job, very physical, and now I'm building muscle. So there could be a very good possibility that I won't really lose anymore weight, I'll just slim down. I am 5'3" with a large bone structure and if I weighed what the height chart said I should, I would look anorexic. (120lbs to 125lbs). So at 5 foot, I think you are not that far off from what your "ideal weight" is supposed to anyway. Tell her, 'Perfection is not the will of the Universe. It is humankind's perception of what should be." ( I wrote that). Might confuse her enough to leave you alone for awhile. Eat, drink and be merry.

JESUS - stop your damn whining. Is this really the biggest problem in your life? Well, at least you are not pregnant, on herion, having sex for money...you are just skinny. But alot of this is just because you are female. You will never think you are perfect, it is just a flaw. I am sure you are just fine, but you have low self-esteem, and since you have low self-esteem, you let what people's words and opinions highly affect you.

If your friend is overweight, next skinny joke, thow a fat joke out there. If she is your friend, turn about should be fair play. She won't have a leg to stand on if she is offended, except maybe a turkey leg. this might possibly get the point across.

As far as everyone else goes, find some guts and repeat after me:
"Please, I would really appreciate it if your would keep your opinion of, and comments about my weight to yourself. This will be the final time I will ask nicely. Henceforth, I will either decide not to be around you; or, in the interest of being fair, you should expect some rather rude comments about from me about one of your physical attributes. Thank you and please feel free to F*ck smooth off as this subject is not open for debate!"

The focus now is on preventing anorexia nervosa. Unfortunately, all skinny women (my ex-wife was a furnace. She could eat anything and not gain an ounce) are under suspicion of having an eating disorder. Just do what you do and don't answer stupid questions. Most of the people who are going to ask are envious of your metabolism. 5' and 106 sounds like a good weight-to-height ratio. Next time someone asks you about your weight, give them your best dirty look and say "Why would you ask me a question like that?" I guarantee most will slink away.

I am 5'4-103 lbs. These are the things that have been told to me about my weight I am now 51 yrs. old-always same size
My hair was taking my growth, need to have a tsp. of castor oil every day, eat more bread, get married (you know-to do it), have a baby (been there done that) eat fattening food just before bed time, drink the "get fat fast drinks" and many. Now I just say that I work very hard to maintain my size and I hope I don't get any bigger. That usually keeps them quiet on the subject. Good Luck

Here's what you can say, " Looking at me, you may not think I eat enough, but my metabolism certainly breaks down whatever I eat faster than most folks'. Apparently, you haven't really observed my eating habits quite thoroughly. It can be truly a pain sometimes with strangers but what can I do? I've been blessed because I can eat as much as I want and still not gain weight."

People whom are jealous of your body archetype will find anything to put you down to make themselves feel better. Or on the other hand being your friends may just be poking fun and mean no real harm by it.

I think the reason your friend is making these sorts of comments is because she's actually insecure about her own weight. You should politely tell her that how much you eat is your decision.

If you are healthy and getting the nutrients you need, then it shouldn't matter. If she won't shut up about it then tell her it bothers you and that you do eat.

Hit her with a fish.

The only way to get through to senseless people is by equally senseless action.
