If you are converting from decimal to percent, simply move the decimal point two places to the right to get the percent.

1. 1.68 = 168%
2. 0.002 = .2 %
3. 2.59 = 259%

For fractions, divide to convert to a decimal and then follow the same procedure

4. 23/100 = .23 = 23%
5. 1/4 = .25 = 25%
6. 7/20 = .35 = 35%
7. 9/1000 = .009 = .9%

Hope that helps.

To change decimals into percents you multiply by 100 because percent means per hundred. The result is to move the decimal place twice. I will demonstrate:
1. 1.68 x 100 = 168
answer 168%

2. 0.002 x 100 = 0.2
answer 0.2%

3. 2.59 x 100 = 259
answer 259%

Before you can change a fraction to percent you must first divide the numerator by the denominator to get the decimal and then use the previous examples to find the percent. I will demonstrate:

4. 23/100 = 0.23
0.23 x 100 =23
answer 23%
(You may notice that it was already 23 but I wanted to demonstrate the technique)

5. 1/4 = 0.25
0.25 x 100 = 25
answer 25%

6. 7/20 = 0.35
0.35 x 100 = 35
answer 35%

7. 9/1000 = 0.009
0.009 x 100 =0.9
answer 0.9%

Good luck on your test

Let me try....percent means "out of a hundred"... with decimals, move the decimal point two places to the right (for 2 zeros in the 100), so 1.68 is 168%, 0.002 is 0.2%, 2.59 is 259%....with fractions, just divide first, and move the decimal again 2 spaces to the right...so 1/4=0.25, which makes it 25%, 7/20=0.35, or 35%, 9/1000=0.009 or 0.9%....let me know if this not making sense... :)

Fractions - first turn them into decimals. (Divide the numerator - the number on top - by the denominator - the number on the bottom.)

Your example #5 - 1 over 4 = .25
To change .25 into percent - move the decimal point two spaces to the right - .25 = 25%
