I am 8 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am experiencing awful morning sickness. It is worse in the morning and around bed time. I can't even think about food most of the time. Any suggestions?

Hi I am sooo sorry that you are going through this and there are some things to try like dry toast and biscuits, or maybe some ginger snaps. You should also leave a packet of them next to your bed, set your alarm a wee bit earlier and when you wake up lie in bed and have a dry biscuit. I tried this but it didnt work for me, though most women agree this is the best remedy, So definately worth a try. I would also watch what you are eating before bed, try not to eat too much, this may lie in your tummy and cause quesieness.

Good Luck

I tried lots of things, nothing worked for me, however everyone different so here are a few home remedies....
~If you can stand it suck on a lemon slice
~ anything salty (french fries, crackers, potato chips, pretzels)
~Take a teaspoon of fresh lime juice, a teaspoon mint juice, a tablespoon honey, and a 1/2 teaspoon ginger juice frequently
~Gather 2 kiwi, 3 oranges, 8 peaches, 1 pinapple, grapes, and mix them in the blender with 1 cup of vinilla icecream and that should cool down your stomach
~True peppermint (not artificial flavor or other mints) will soothe the nausea of morning sickness
~Make sure your stomach is never completely empty. Carry fruit, cheese and/or crackers around with you to nibble on throughout the day
~Keep a snack by the bed for when you get up during the night to visit the bathroom or soothe one of the kids
~Eat a high protein snack before bed at night
~ Avoid strong odors and stuffy or smoky rooms
~Wear motion sickness bands on your wrists
~Suck on frozen popsicles, especially lemonade

I sure do hope something works for you! Best of Luck and Congrats!!

Trust me, I feel your pain. What I found helped is eating numerous small meals throughout the day. It's when your stomach empties that you begin to get nauseous. What I loved were Arrowroot cookies. I couldn't take the whole cracker thing because they were so dry and any thought of drinking water when you are nauseous is just not good. The cookies were not too dry and also not too sweet. I would have them beside my bed and as soon as I woke up I would eat a couple.

Don't worry this will pass soon and in the end it's all worth it. Good luck and congrats!!

I found with my first pregnancy I was sooooooo sick looking back I think nerves as being a mom for the first time and being a worry wart about money and relationships played a big part. Try to relax as much as possible and reassure yourself all will work out. Also warm tea helped a bit

crackers upon getting up in the morning and ginger ale or warm 7up, Peppermint candies also helped me, I also found that Green Tea at night time before bed with a teaspoon of honey also made getting up in the morning alot better.

to just be patient and ride it out... sometimes it helps to nibble on saltine crackers prior to getting up and going to bed. Make sure you eat or have a full stomach when you take your prenatal vitamins.. i know that sometimes causes sickness too. I used to suck on the lemon head candies too.. they made me feel so much better when i had morning sickness.. but their are alot of stuff you can try... but mostly just be patient and ride it out.. oh and drink plenty and plenty of water... keep hydrated... goodluck

With my first two pregnancies, I tried the 'ol crackers routine and ended up hospitalized, receiving fluids for dehydration, and on Phenergan suppositories to suppress nausea.
With our third, some wonderful mom out there in cyberworld told me to cut a fresh lemon and live my whole pregnancy smelling these things. I got lots of stares, but NO SICKNESS. We are expecting our 4th in September and my fridge is loaded with lemons. Lol
A close friend of mine swears by ginger. They use it for their kids on long car trips, too.
Oh, yeah, my sis used preggy pops and that worked for her.
