Hi Dean,
Hope this is what you want:

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Nile, the longest river in the world, principal to Egypt and northeastern Africa

The world's ten longest rivers
It is difficult to measure the length of a river, the more precise the measurement, the longer the river will seem. Also, it is difficult to determine where a river begins or ends, as very often, upstream rivers are formed by seasonal streams, swamps, or changing lakes.

These are average measurements.

1. Nile (6,690 km)
2. Amazon (6,452 km)
3.Mississippi-Missouri (6,270 km)
4. Yangtze (Chang Jiang) (6,245 km)[
5. Yenisey-Angara (5,550 km)
6. Huang He (Yellow) (5,464 km)
7. Ob-Irtysh (5,410 km)
8Amur (4,410 km)
9.Congo (4,380 km)
10. Lena (4,260 km)

At 4,160+ miles, the Nile would rank as the longest river in the world. Its source is commonly considered to be Lake Victoria but obviously Lake Victoria itself is fed by several smaller rivers, most notabaly, the Akagera river (from the Rukarara in the Nyungwe Forest of Rwanda), increasing this its length to nearly 4200 miles

There is actually debate in scientific communities if it is the Nile or the Amazon, due to ambiguities in how the length of a river should properly be measured. The Nile is usually said to be the world's longest, though, with a length of 6690 km, while the Amazon follows with 6387 km. However, some sources cite 6762 km for the Amazon, making it longer than the Nile. The Amazon is also far larger than the Nile in total volume of water flow.
