i think that that is a reasonable request from you...if it makes you feel uncomfortable, then you have the right to let your partner know how you feel...however, you should also consider the possibility that your partner may have a good friendship with the woman and nothing more. in that case, he is not being unfair to your relationship and it would probably do you well to be understanding and trusting of him.

Um....I noticed you answered "partner"; while it's definately not very cool of him to do, if there's no ring on his finger, then he hasn't made the ultimate "commitment" to you.

So really, the question is not whether or not your request was reasonable or not....he seems intent on continuing the behavior...but on what you are going to do about it to protect your dignity and respect.

no, it's not ok..it's very reasonable what you are telling him. if he's interested in talking to them, then he is interested in them period. this isn't a good thing for you. if he doesn't stop then the problems and fights are going to start surfacing. either he's going to cheat or you will become so insecure-trust will be affected. nothing good can come out of a continuing error. and he is in great error.

i dont think your asking too much from him. why doesnt he just get his number changed. and if they are contacting him through the mail then he simply doesnt respond back. but he's must be giving them reason to contact him. sounds like a hidden agenda in there. time for an ultimatum!

Not unreasonable at all. Don't wait around like a sitting duck to be shot down when he takes up with her again. Leave now.
