im downloading something on my computer and its says "more hardrive space needed"

Go to My Computer, right click on your hard drive and select Properties.

That will give you information on your used and free space.

For Windows XP:
- Click Start
- Select Windows Explorer
- Expand "My Computer" to display list of drives
- Right click on a drive and select "Properties" to see space

Right-click the start button, then choose explore. Highlight the drive you're trying to download to, right-click it and choose Properties. You should get a pie-chart showing your space. Do a disk cleanup and that should free some room, but it's probably time to start erasing and archiving things you don't use.

1. See which drive you are downloading to ... desktop by default will be on C drive .. if you have multi boot or you have configured to have "documents and settings" on another drive then you have it there...
2. go to that drive and make sure you have atleast 1.5 times the size of the download as free space...

Click start, my computer and then right click on each drive to get it's info. Assumes you are running XP.

click my computer then when your drive c: comes up right click it and it click properties. it should tell you how much space is used and how much space is left on that drive.

go to your start menu, and then go over to control panel, then go to delete or change programs and delete the unnecessary ones.

if you are using Windows click start-> all programs-> accessories-> system tools-> disk defragmentor.
