The Republicans are obviously worried Obama might get the nomination for Democrat and think he will be harder to defeat than Hillary so they are trying to smear him by scaring people with his middle name. He is actually a Christian, his Muslim dad left him when he was young so I don't think had too much influence in his life from what I have read, although the Republicans would like everyone to think otherwise.

In a positive sense, it might be a good thing for our country to be led by a leader with a partially Muslim name, would show we are not completely anti-Muslim and racist, and Middle East leaders from Iran and other countries might be more open towards diplomacy with a new President Barack Hussein Obama than our current leader who I think has burned some bridges with his invasion of Iraq.

to me his name raises a flag , seems if he wanted to be American he would have changed his name, but the fact he spent a lot of time in Indo China and was in the Muslim culture for a good part of his life really brings worries to mind, so I ask my self why should I take such a risk when it serves no purpose, but, of course I am not one of the P,C, crowd who wants to pretend that if you don't feel comfortable with something or you have doubts you are racist, and the gov, has made that sound as if it is the worst crime imaginable, and only the lowest are prejudice, and the sheepel believe this propaganda,

This riles up the Repubs, but the fact that W's business partners had the last name Bin Laden doesn't raise question #1.
How do you train your mind to be so conveniently situationally racist?

Obama's father was Muslim, so he was given the Muslim middle name.
Barak's father must not have been too religious, though. He left him and his mother when Barak was still little.
