I want to start track but my Sabbath is on Saturday. I have already talked to the track coach and she said it would be okay but what if I just did it for any sport? Is it legal? I should have the right to play sports even though I wont be able to play the few games on Saturdays. Please only answers that are actually helpful... Thankyou.

If this is public school in the U.S.A., or this is a college with federally funded programs, then the first amendment should protect your right to play sports under these conditions.

Internationally, you may or may not get to play. There is an olympic precedent in which Eric Lyddell ran for Scotland (see the movie, Chariots of Fire, for a historically accurate vewsion of this event, as far as this part goes). He celebrated the sabbath on Sunday, and refused to race in an event held on that day. A team member traded places with him, so that he could race in another event instead. I am not sure of current Olympic rules in this regard, but I am sure that just as Eric Lyddell was greatly respected, you would be respected for your decision as well, and not barred from being on the US team.

Yes, you should be able to, because they picked when the games would be, and if you cant do it because you have a good reason, they should hold their tongues.
