Spinal Tap (Mockumentary). Really funny.
Fear of a Black Hat (Mockumentary). It's about rap music, but I think it's funnier than Spinal Tap.
Amadeus: Mozart
The Doors: The Doors
La Bamba: Ritchie Valens

24 Hour Party People - It's about Tony Wilson who started Manchester's Factory Records (Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays) based on real events and pretty funny.
Quadrophenia - Based on The Who's rock opera of the same name about mods in 60's England.
Hard Core Logo - About a fictional Canadian hardcore band reforming for a tour of the country years later.
Sid & Nancy - Fictionalized account of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and his girlfriend.
This is Spinal Tap - Parody about a British heavy metal band on their American tour.
The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash - Movie parodying The Beatles
That'll Be the Day - Drama about a young English guy in the late 50's or so who ends up dreaming of being a rock'n'roll musician to escape his distisfaction with his life.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch - About a Transexual singer in a rock band from East Germany who moves to America.
High Fidelity - About a record store owner and other people obsessed with music.
The Buddy Holly Story - Title says it.
Rock 'n Roll High School - Kitchy story of a girl in the early 80's who is convinced she is the biggest Ramones fan. The band does feature in the movie as well.
And though you don't want docs I have to mention a couple.
End of the Century - The Story of the Ramones - Even if you arren't a fan of them or music at all this is still a great film
Dig! - About The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols and their friendship and rivalry over the years. It is a crazy movie about crazy people (The Brian Jonestown Massacre).
