I like the name Vance for a little boy. I think it is cute and will carry him through adulthood without sounding to child-like.

There is a driver for the Indy Racing league whose name is Vitor. It looks similar to Victor but pronounced VEE-tor. Probably just another name that your boyfriend likes, but hopefully you can work things out. Good luck!!
