I wanna say 1st off sorry for another question about rascism. But, I was just glancing at some of the questions on here and was very saddened and hurt. You see, I am a 20year old black woman thats educated, pretty I have been told, and doesnt judge people unless I know them.I just dont understand why black women are so hated.People think that we dont know that in the eyes of the American world, we are not attractive?Of course we do. We are reminded everyday. And then, reading this there is so many generalizations about how we are ugly, loud, ghetto, and unfeminine.I know so many black women that carry themselves with respect and are not like this.Yes,there are exceptions to this rule. But that is with all people, not one people is all the same.Just like no one person is the same.Well,I just wanted to say that when you write these things, think about the people you might be hurting.Because black women will never have what other races of women have in this world. So, I just pray for all sisters.

The almost universal disdain for black women goes back so far that I don't think that anyone knows when it started or why it still continues. And yes, I agree that black women as a culture are unfairly despised and looked down upon. Reading your question made me realize that even YOU have bought into the stereotype that loud, ignorant, uncouth black women are viewed as "the rule" or the norm, and those of us who conduct ourselves with some dignity and sense are considered to be "the exceptions". This saddens me, but does not surprise me. When you spend an entire lifetime having all of society feeding you bullsh*t about how you are less than nothing because you are a black female, it gets under your skin and makes you paranoid.

The best way to deal with everyone else's stupidity is by example. Be yourself and conduct yourself properly and with dignity and self-respect. And nothing says that you have to put up with anyone treating you badly. Not non-black people. Not black men. And especially not other black women. Don't let anyone else drag you down to their level. Keep your head up. You know you were raised right.

P.S. This may make you smile :)

I think the statement that black women are hated is in itself a generalization. I also think it has a lot to do with generation and class. Though not all black women are ghetto, the ones who are intimidate the rest of us with their abrasiveness. You may not notice this, but I and many others do. As far as attractiveness, I find that white women tend to be a helluva lot more insecure in the looks department-if ya'll aren't proud of what you've got, you got us fooled. Don't tell me that white women have it better as far as being attractive and aren't reminded each and every day of what we can never look like. Advertisement is a crime against ALL women-not just black alone.

I'm 100% white and male, but I sure hope the day comes soon that all this ignorant white supremacy crap is exposed for the stupidity it is so no more people are so deeply hurt as you obviously have been.

For 14 years, from Kindergarten through high school, we are all bombarded by the theory-tale of evolution which teaches us that white people are more "evolved" than all the "mud races".

This is the root cause of ALL of today's ills. Not only did the founders of this country recognize that "All men are created equal", but countries and individuals that accepted this lie gave us fascism, communism, genocide, infanticide through abortion, AIDS, an epidemic of teen pregnancy and a divorce rate that now exceeds the marriage rate.

And don't think black women are hated universally, my roomate (who is whiter than me if that's possible) won't date anyone BUT black women. To each his own, I guess.

Little sister, remember that ther will always be those that are loud and have nothing to say.

Black women are not hated. There are those that will never understand the beauty and the pride that we carry, but they are of little consequence.

If you run across a person who doesn't get it, forget them. you are more and better than they can understand.

The way that you carry yourself is what people see. Even those who want to see you as less, and talk sh** see regality in the black woman whose head is high and whose eyes are determined.

Be you. Be the legacy born in you, regardless of what the uneducated choose to say.

Honestly, I never have witnessed any hate directed towards a black female because she was a black female. People will find any excuse to hate another person, probably because they have issues with themselves. I happen to think black women are beautiful. And black men, white men, white women, brown, purple, whatever. Color means very, very little to a lot of people. I think that in society people do hurt other based on their skin color, but I also think that some people use their skin color as an excuse and I think on both sides of the argument people need to work on being color blind. Sorry you're feeling hated.

My very dear young Lady, that was a lovely thought. Oh yes, we do have our share of haters in LGBTQ (may I apologize for them behind times as we're usually not like this) but the rest of us don't really act like this. If anyone knows how to get slapped up side the face, it's us Happy People!!
Pray for the Sisters, the Brothers and all the Humans, my dear Child. Pray for Us All. Blessings.

well, as a white female who grew up in an all black neighborhood (im from atlanta. go figure.), i must say that i agree with you.

i have heard women say things about your race that i find very racist and ignorant and immature, but i believe the best thing to do is to ignore people like that.

i for one love black women. as a matter of fact, the last black woman i was intimate with was afro american. i believe that each race has something beautiful about it.

i hope people learn not to judge others based on race.

I agree with you. Granted I m white, but I see where you come from. I went to high school in a prodominately black and mexican neighbor. There are some African Americans like yourself that are respectful and do not act as some of the people you have described do, but the "ugly, loud, ghetto, and unfeminine" ruin it for the rest. You can no live in a society with out racial segregation in some way. It will always be that way. There we always be the people who ruin it for the rest of us. It is life. It happens.

I am a straight white female and I for 1 do not see race, I have had friends of different races and orientations, in fact one I have a dear African American woman that is soft spoken, she is a wonderful individual and I love her temendously. She barely knew me at an earlier point in my life, when I was really down, she asked this question: "How are you doing, sunshine?" that made me feel sooooooo good because at the time my life was crap.
