He can be teething, although this usually doesn't start until the 4th month. Check the sides of the gums, if they look puffed out that usually means a tooth may be on its way. Although it can some time for it to come out. Does he have a fever or he is pulling on his ears? You may want to go to your doctor just to be sure this isn't something else.
If your doctor says that it is teething, try to use teethers for him to munch on...or even a cooled spoon to tap on his gums. Trust me it works, just be careful not to let it go too far into his mouth.
Good luck...the fun has only begun.

My son got his first tooth IN at 4 mo. He drooled and chewed but was not a whimperer. He had a cousin that was 6 days younger and 2 1/2 lbs smaller. They would be on a pallet and my son would gnaw on his cousin's bald head! It was funny. The cousin didn't get a tooth until 13 mo. My sister's 3 got theirs at about 12 mo. and my 3 got their teeth much earlier. YOu just never know! Best wishes! PS .Make a sugar teat with about an 6-8 in square of terrycloth or smooth cloth. Put about one tablespoon of plain sugar in the center and tie a good string around a couple of times and tie it well. Cut off any excess string so the baby won't choke. The baby can hold this sitting in a highchair or walker or bounce chair. If he lays down flat he could choke some if he gets it too juicy with his dribbles!

My 7 month started doing that exact same thing when he was at that age, is still doing that and yet no teeth. I was told that sometimes the teething process can take several months. The doctor said that to help with the pain he might be feeling as well as the possible fever, we could give him infant Tylenol. I feel your pain. Best of luck.

It's really never too early for them to be teething. Some babies are even born with teeth!
He's got alot of symptoms of teething..especially the fussiness and the drooling.
Let him chew on your fingers and see if that helps. Putting pressure on his gums will relieve the pain, so you'll be able to know if he truly is teething if he calms down when chewing on something.

My son is also 3 months and is teething as well. So yes it is possible. He doensn't fuss all the time. I brought him a teething ring, but he doesn't seem to care for it. I give him teething cookies and teething tablets. They look like little pellets, which numbs his gums. This helps a lot. U can try to look into those.

hello... i have not had a baby myself so i can only speak from others experience i know my brother started to teeth very early and my niece started teasing at four months old. so the symptoms sound like teething to me... if you want to be sure i would ask a doctor but babys grow in different ways all babies are unique and most dont follow the typical pattern set out for us to read. I believe that this sounds like he is teething. I hope this helps .

My daughter cut her first tooth at 4 months sooo... its totally possible, try motrin to ease the pain also, wet a face cloth then stick it in the freezer, it worked for my two girls they loved to chew on that, better than any teething device in the market!!
