I have an appt. monday and they told me not to have intercourse for 2 days before hand, can they tell if you've had sex? Can they tell if you've had anal sex? And also, I know this is weird, but can they till if you're getting aroused during the exam?

If they take a sample from the cervix, and they find traces of sperm, then they will be able to tell you had sex obviously. They would only be able to to tell if you had anal sex, if they took a sample from the anus and found traces of sperm, but they won't do that anyway.

I don't know how they would know if you were aroused, because the signs of when you get nervous are very similar to the signs of arousal and most women feel a little nervous during gyno exams. They aren't mind readers and they truly wouldn't be able to tell unless you started moaning and groaning lol.

Good luck : )

They tell you not to have sex, because they will do a pap smear and at the same time take a sample from the tissue inside your anus. If you have sex, they won't get any clear results on your tests and you have to go in again. A doctor really doesn't care if you have anal sex except when they do the testing. This sounds weird, getting aroused during that exam. Let us know, if you did.

Cassy you dirty girl!!

Haha no but seriously, they can probably tell. I don't have anal sex so I don't know 100%, but some gyno's like to stick a finger up your butt just to check things out back there. So maybe there's a possiblity.

My best friend works for a gyno and they laugh about the girls who get turned on from the exams. So it does happen and yes, they DO know when it does. Good luck though, I'm sure it'll be fine.

They won't be able to tell if you've had sex unless there is some type of tear or injury to the tissue. But they don't want you having sex because it can effect the outcome of your pap smear, if you have an abnormal pap you will have to have it done again. They might be able to tell if you're aroused, because during arousal your body have extra secretions. However, I doubt you'll be aroused.

Yes, they can tell if you've had anal sex and yes, they can tell if you get aroused during the exam.

The reason not to have sex for two days previously is so that your tests results aren't obscured by semen. They need to check your own discharge, rather than your partner's leftovers.
