James Whale's The Bride of Frankenstein is probably the best of the classics. Seen on a theater screen (or even a large-screen tv) its a wild experience, between the fine acting by Karloff, Colin Clive, Ernest Thesiger and many others, the astounding art direction and photography, the outrageous but mesmerizing plot, the great score by Franz Waxman, topped with a Lab-creation sequence that's never been equaled anywhere, anytime, and climaxed with the Bride herself, this vintage masterpiece remains a winner in every category.

This is hard. The old classics can't be compared to the newer ones today, due to the fact that back then they didn't have the special effects technology that we have today.
So, I'll have to seperate the two groups.
The best one in the real oldies catagory, in my opinion. would be "PYSCHO".
There are 3 that tie as far as the best horror films of all time.
"The Ring"
"The Grudge" and
"Bram Stoker's Dracula" starring Gary Oldman and Keanu Reeves
Just my opinion.

Agree on the original Bride of Frankenstein. The original Invasion of the Body Snatchers was also one of the best of the genre.
