I hear ya brother. I was getting the itch this weekend. I see my poor bike covered in the garage and long for the Spring. I'm thinking of buying a snowmobile to ride in the winter. Then I can catch the wind year round.

Are you sure about those numbers? Microsoft streets shows that being in the middle of a field about 2 miles due west of Queensbury, NY.

Anyway, when winter comes and I have to park my Harley in the garage I too get the white line withdrawal symptoms. If it wasn't for football to watch I fear I'd go stir crazy. I also took up guitar lessons and play the keyboard to get me by.

I am seriously considering buying a 6 x 15 foot trailer so I can haul the bike south a couple times in the winter to go riding. There are places in the south that have rentals but it just isn't the same as riding your own scooter. Went to Florida about three years ago and rented. The roads down there are boring boring boring. Straight and flat. I do know of at least two places in Las Vegas to rent and sometimes you can get CHEAP air fare out there because they think you will come and gamble away several hundred dollars in the casino. I might do that if I don't find a reasonably priced trailer.

And then too there is the show, SURVIVOR that gets me by for awhile. All the mind games and the challenges intrigue me. I like to take bets with my buddies after the forth week as to who will win and we always make the bet something hard like waxing a BIG truck, or spit polish the HOG or maybe make em wear the "other" football team shirt to work all day.

It also helps to have lots of lighting in the winter. I used to get a deep funk going to work at 4:30 in the morning in the dark and only having about one hour of sunlight in the drive home. It was the pits until I learned it was because I wasn't getting enough light. So now I turn on some bright lights and sit in front of the PC for awhile till the blue funk goes away.

Hope that helps you till the big thaw comes.

Ride safe, ride longer....

April? Where you at. I'm here in Massachusetts and I ride several times per month. As I write this I am counting the days. I pick up my Harley turned into a trike this Wednesday or Thursday. DID this as I ride year round and my bad leg no longer lets me ride like I used to. Solution was trike. If there is no sand or ice or snow on the road then RIDE.

I also live up north and mine is put away for the winter but sometimes you can hear it calling you from the garage!!

Someone I know takes hers out at least once a month even if it is just for a really short ride. She bundles up well and goes so long as there isn't ice on the road.

You build yourself a shed with a rolling road and an extractor fan and a big screen TV and you set it up at the back of your yard, and when this time you describe arrives you can go down to your shed , suck a few suds or have a j .turn on your video of the road , start your bike and cruise!!

Damn The Luck !! Move to Texas and ride year round. It was 25 degrees here this morning and my Road King loves the cold. We don't have time to read bike rags. Just leather-up and ride. Stop in for a cold one too !!

I've got several bikes and I keep my shop nice and warm.Winter is when I do a few modifcations and add chrome.I also do lots of polishing. Bike week in Daytona is always the first week in March so it's also time to do all your trailer maintanance and put the spit shine on the bikes,Don't let it get ya down.
