I have a compaq presario and it keeps making a noise like a blender. the sound goes on and off.whats going on?

That's probably the fan that is used to cool the CPU. Most laptop fans are loud because they are small, and small fans have to spin faster to move the same amount of air as a larger fan.

First you need to find out where is the noise sound come from, probaly you may check from your CPU heatsink Fan & HDD first.
If you unable to verify the problem, pls contact your laptop company to get for the customer service centre & get the proper way fixed it.

Fans, hard drives, and DVD/CD drives all get noisy when they fail. You could take it in for an estimate or just use it until it breaks. If it's under warranty, DEFINITELY get it fixed now so they pay for whatever it is instead of putting it off until the warranty won't cover it and you get stuck paying for it.

it's probably the fan.my xbox did that for a while and I thought it was broke but the next day I turned it on and it sounded perfect.
