Sweetness aka Walter Payton

Looks like Walter Payton is getting big votes & I will have to agree with that, & I am a diehard Bears fan anyway. Your probably going to think I am nuts becuz he is not anywhere close to being the best player in the NFL, but after all these years, I still love Jim McMahon ( rebel without a cause ), but for entertainment value mostly.

Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Dan Marino or Jerry Rice

If you go by Super Bowl rings or who always won the big game then you would have to go with Terry Bradshaw. He appeared in 4 Super Bowls and won them all. He won MVP twice! Joe Montana was great and he wore #12 because he loved Terry Bradshaw growing up as well as Jim Kelly for Buffalo. Nobody came through in the clutch like Terry Bradshaw in the Super Bowls. You don't hear his name a lot because he doesn't have big numbers but he has 4 Super Bowl rings!

Barry Sanders

That would encompass a lot of positions, but I think only a deity will be able to break Morten Andersen's record of most career points (2,445 and possibly growing) and oldest player (he is 46 years old and says he wants to play till he is 50).

THe best all time player who ever played football is probably Barry Sanders. The only thing affecting this was his early retirement. If he never retired i believe he would be holding all running back records.
