West Coast: Whistler British Columbia, California: Heavenly or Mammoth

Rockies: By far Aspen, made up of three Aspen Mountains. Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass = something like 5000 acres. (Place I skied this weekend in new hampshire was
230 acres, 50+ trails!)

East Coast: Killington, Sunday River, or Sugarloaf. Stowe is pretty big too.

Remember, bigger isn't always better. You need to consider drive time from airport, cost, style of mountain. In the top 25 resorts, you really can't go wrong! Have fun!!

Actually, through a recent negotiation between Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin Resort in Big Sky MT to sell joint ski tickets, these two joint resorts have shot to the biggest ski resort in America, with a total of 5,512 acres of skiing, 220+ runs, 4,350 vertical feet, for a $79 one day lift ticket (Adult price).

Check it out!

It will be some circus in Europe like the Trois Vallee or Val d'Isere/Tignes. North American resorts are tiny.

it's definitely not vail, and it's not in the U.S.

it could be Whistler in canada, but I vaguely remember reading about a ski resort in France twice the size of Vail, and that would put it in front of Whistler. the name is escaping me now...
