WEAPONS on the REVOLUTIONARY WAR

The other guy gave you the English "Brown Bess" a "massed" fire musket, smooth bore than could be pointed but not aimed.

Really primitive cannon: not much better than the 17th century cannon, but did have some capacities as to firing such as "a shotgun" at close range or such as chain and other items to equate a fragmentation device. Overall due to "fuses" deadly
but only in the best of conditions.

the best weapon was the sword, pike or bayonet.

Fighting at night was equal to any Generals plans.

Stealth and such as smallpox, poison, and such could rule the battlefield.

Catch 'em in a swamp, then kill them. Deny the enemy (The British) food and safe water.

Offer the "hired guns" the Hessian's, land, acres of land, and a chance to be free, but above all use the French in their own hated of the English to win the war.

get the bloody English in the woods and "rifles", not muskets would cut them down, but they never went there much.

The English were "doomed" from the first day of the war to lose, as with 1812. Trouble is they though inflicting casualities in "battles" was winning the war, so they won most battles, but they were "bleeding out".

twas the War of 1812 that the "rifle" proved superior.

Shoot and kill them at 700, 600 yards add reload four times before they could even point that "Brown Bess"?

The Revoluntary war ended actually in 1814: when General Jackson sent a message. "New Orleans"

The Revolutionary War saw the introduction of two famous firearms, which were a key development in both the war and the establishment of the United States as a manufacturing power in the world.

The first was the single-shot Krag rifle carried by the organized American Army.

The second was the Colt Peacemaker revolver.

Best of luck --- I'm looking forward to Five Stars!!

That was a foot soldier, musketry, artillery (cannons) and cavalry (men on horseback) war. Some pistol. When you have a time, one of the most fascinating books in modern times is John Keegan's "A History of Warfare." I highly recommend adding it to your reading list.

How about becoming a REAL LEARNER and doing your own research? How about finding Google and working the best sites out for yourself? You know, getting others to do your work for you will only work if you want to be a dead weight and a helpless invalid. Get busy and learn to take responsibility for your own accomplishments. With that comes a good dose of pride and self worth. The work is worth it.
