I just got Comcast Cable interent though it does work with just the modem. I want my sister play to so we got a NetGear WGR614 wireless router. I hooked up the modem to the router and the router to the computer I pop in the router install disc but when it said searching for connection it said "No connection" so I basically cant do nothing change the Mac or w.e any help?

Dont use the disk. After you connect the modem to the router and then connect the router to a computer using ethernet cable, open a browser window and type http://www.routerlogin.net to get to the router configuration.

It would be great if you would just look at the quick install guide and follow the instructions.

you should always run the disk, does your sister have a laptop with wireless built in. what you need to do is sync the modem to the router, this will pull the routers ip.



go to start the run then type in cmd and black window will come up, you will need to type in ... ipconfig/release if you see all 0's your doing great then you do the same thing except you type in ipconfig/renew you should see the routers ip of something like 192.
