I'm really unsure about this name, but I know that he has always loved the idea of calling his son Paxton.

Paxton translated means "Please beat me up on the playground daily."

Please don't do it.

We know a family with Parker, Patrick, Peter and Paxton--I don't think he is made fun of or anything, but I know some kids have a really hard time remembering Paxton's name (and even when they know it, his mom has said people seem to call him "Packson" like Jackson). My son and his friends will talk about the other three kids by name, but always ask, "What's the other one's name?"

Paxton isn't really that great of a name; but if I were gonna use it I would say it sounds more like a girls name than a boys name~ Kinda like Peyton!

It reminds me of the actor Bill Paxton...wasn't he in Twister or something?

Anyway, as for naming a child that, I think I like it. Ponder it for a little while, and maybe when you see your son you'll know whether he's a "Paxton" or not :-)

My friend just had a baby last Friday on January 19th. They were pretty sure it was going to be a girl (Kayla) but had a boys name picked out also, just in case, which was Paxton. I breathed a sigh of relief when baby Kayla arrived!!!

Paxton is a last name, not a first name. If he wants a child with that name, he should change his own last name.

i am not too fond of it... i sounds like a name you would hear on the OC or whatever that MTV show is called, with Talon and I don't even remember the other weird names. But it is unusual, and I like that about the name Paxton.

The fad of giving babies last names as first names is so very very dumb. In 30 years, when it's over, everyone else on the planet will notice that it is so very very dumb and I can say "I knew that 30 years ago!"

BONUS: Paxton sounds like medication.

I'm sorry, not trying to be rude or anything
but Paxton reminds me of Paxil...
And it practically screams "Hey,My Name is Paxton,go ahead and make fun of me."

Paxton? No, that is a horrible name. Put your foot down on that one, you will be the one to comfort the child when he come home crying after the other kids laugh at his name.

Well, it's certainly better for a boy than a girl. Not really my style, it's maybe a bit preppy-trendy, but as that particular pool of names goes, this is one of the better ones.
