My mother (herminegranger2003) has gotten a lot of advice from Y! Answers and I need advice now. I would like to tell my mom that I can't go to book club anymore because I have other extra curricular activities I need to do. My sister and I always go to book club with our mom and it means a lot to her and I love reading so it wasn't bad at all. We also play tennis, swim together and we do many more things together. But, how should I tell her I can't do book club anymore without hurting her?

Send her a link to your question - it's obvious you enjoy spending time with your mom, so she will probably understand. I know I would. The fact that you're even asking on here shows that you care!!! Can you still read the books that the book club is reading, and maybe discuss them privately with her, without going to the meetings?

Just talk to her and explain that you do a lot of things now...

and slip in that extra circular activities look awesome for college!

I think that your best bet is to sit down with her, tell her the truth, and explain it much like you did to us. Tell her that you will still do all of the other things that you can with her.
